Warren County Council Against Domestic Violence, INC, aka Turning Point

Turning Point was founded in 1994 to provide shelter and services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and their children. The agency operates a twenty-five bed shelter and provides:

Court Advocacy
Case Management
Support Groups
Licensed Councelor
Budget and Financial Support
Child Care

We try to educate the public about the devastating effects these crimes ahve on the victim, the children, and the community. Services were provided for 688 women and children last year.

The project needed by this agency was fairly straightforward: Create a website for Turning Point

The team that proceeded to tackle this project was the Turners team consisting of the following great individuals:

This was an interesting project, and it allowed everyone involved to learn quite a bit of stuff. Since it is a blank slate, we recommended a webhost provider for them, walked them through registering for a domain name of their preference (www.turningpointdvs.com) , and we decided to use SiteFinity as the CMS for their site. All these legwork were done before the starting time on Friday, October 16th.

It was great to see synergy between the team members, and everyone was contributing to the project as a whole. Members of the team worked from the start time 6 PM Friday, until the closing ceremony at 5 PM on Sunday. We tweaked and reworked some graphics to the agency's request and contents were put in according to their requirements; the website was deployed and live on Monday morning.
